Tabitha Weber serves as Director of Animal Welfare for the Virgil Louie Foundation, bringing a lifelong dedication to animals and a formally recognized foundation in animal management to the foundation's equine programs.
Tabitha earned her Certificate of Program Completion in Animal Management from Northwest Career Center, Columbus Public Schools — a program approved by the Ohio Department of Education — where she was recognized with both the Pride, Respect and Commitment Award and the Most Improved Student Award. Her training encompasses animal behavior interpretation, safe handling and restraint techniques, grooming, facility management, animal nutrition, and animal care recordkeeping.
Over the years Tabitha has put that training to work in meaningful ways. She founded and operated her own animal grooming business and has spent years rescuing dogs, cats, and other animals — rehabilitating them and finding them loving forever homes.
In 2026 she furthered her credentials through ASPCA Pro, one of the most respected animal welfare training platforms in the country, completing courses in stress reduction and humane handling techniques, animal cruelty recognition and response, and collaborative models for advancing animal care access — all directly relevant to the Virgil Louie Foundation's trauma-informed approach to equine rescue and healing.
Tabitha brings to the Virgil Louie Foundation not just knowledge, but genuine compassion — the kind that shows up in the quiet, consistent work of caring for animals that others have overlooked. She believes, as the foundation does, that healing is possible for every living thing given the right environment and the right care.
She is a proud mother of three and a Columbus, Ohio native.
